Do you see the problem here?

  The pot holder on the left was made recently and really isn't much good for anything.  Though it is very pretty in color it is so thin that I usually use two.  Now the one on the right was also made recently but with loops I picked up at a yard sale for $.25 and they are much thicker and very useful.  I feel my daughter is being cheated/taught that pretty is better but I say pretty is not so dependable.  Just venting, why do we have to give up on quality for looks....
