Are You Serious

I love these two innocent babies of mine. And I have new prayer for them after an experience this past Sat. night.
*Let your Spirit rest on L&Pie. Give them the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and power, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord-that they might delight in the fear of the Lord. Don't let them judge by what they see with their eyes, or decide by what they hear with their ears, but let them act with righteousness, justice, and faith.*
Sat. night we went to a haunted forest at the local park. This was suppose to be a fun family night out to enjoy a good fright. We had to wait in line a very long time-over two hours and yes it was worth it. But what I found out during this time is that the teenagers at least most standing around us had no respect for anyone in line including themselves. I know that I am not or ever was a goody two shoes but this was bad!! The swearing was horrible and not just the S word but all the words! After about 20 mins. I had enough and my kids were getting embarrassed. So when this boy yelled something I turned to him and ask Are You Serious do you not see my children standing right here? He apologizes and starts to say how he was sorry and was telling his friends that this was a family event. Like that is suppose to make me see the halo above his head. Then I tell him I thought he was the worst, and why could he not just be accountable for himself and leave it at that? After that they were well mannered.
Then later after about waiting in line an hour and half a group of about 10 kids cut in front of us. You know how it works one friend looks for someone they know and they think they can cut and bring their whole crew. One young lady in the group was just going on and on and her vocabulary was very limited. So again after about 15 mins.( I know I need to work on my response time its a conflict thing )I say to her, You cut in line and now I have to list to your swearing and I have had enough. She starts to apologize then proceeds to tell me that she was waiting in line a long time. I do correct her and she again apologizes.
Come on folks! How hard is it to make the right decisions. Yes I know about free speech and all but in both counts they knew they were wrong and corrected themselves. But why did I have to say anything at all. This world is so selfish and we will try to get away with all we can til were called out on it.
Well I am going to and already do try to teach my children accountability. And yes we talked about the kids around us and how they might act when they are older.
I'm just babbling on but this really got to me.
Any way the show was very spooky and we enjoyed it a lot.
The kids who cut in front of us also let us back into the slot we were originally.

K - Your day in court was great practice for you to stand up for what is right. You go girl!!!! It's sad to think about how kids might act when they are with their other friends and their parents are not watching. Thanks for being the parent in the crowd!!!
Sometimes conflict can result in a postive outcome - the kids in that crowd on Saturday may remember and be thankful for a lifetime - we never know what positive impact we have on others. Love you - C
