First Year Excitement

Bug has his first "practice game" tonight. Yeah! We really enjoy this sport in our home.

Watching these OLD Cd's has me thinking about how I can sometimes act towards him. As you watch the video he runs to the dugout after third base instead of home plate, and we all cheered and encouraged him to keep going. It was so funny and he didn't even care. He was just so excited to be a part of the game! Now that he is a little older and a much better player I am not so easily excited and sadly, quick to point out errors. So tonight and for the rest of the season I hope I will act like I did at his first game.

This video was taken JUST 6 years ago and it seems like yesterday. From now on I will TRY not to give an exasperated sigh over a missed catch or a strike out. I will encourage his love for the sport and let him know how PROUD I am of him.

So stinkin' cute!
I was just reading about this very thing today in the Love Dare book from Fireproof. I have to change a lot too.... tone, intention, first greetings that set the stage for the whole day. This whole mom thing is a lot of retraining of ourselves... love it more than anything. Thanks for sharing your video and your heart.

We had never been to a Tee-ball game until we went to Bug's, they were so darn cute... kids running the wrong way around the bases etc..Miss those days, We are so glad he enjoys the sport and is good at it, just like his Dad...
Every Mom looks back some where along the line and says she should have done something different.. no matter how you try your always going to wish should a, would a,
could a.... Just do the best you can ... LOVE YOU
